Through powerful rock anthems and poignant ballads, the characters confront poverty, eviction, loss, and the ever-present shadow of disease. At its heart, Rent is a raw and emotional celebration of friendship, community, and the defiant choice to live and love for the moment, famously reminding everyone that there is “no day but today.”
